Formerly Called the Dugout Cleaners Vincent Ellwood Sr. started the current Boulder Cleaners, formally Dugout Cleaners, in 1923 on the University Hill in Boulder. Mr. Ellwood Sr. ran the Dugout Cleaners with the help of his two sons, Vincent Ellwood Jr. and William Ellwood. In the mid 1970’s, the senior Mr. Ellwood retired and sold the business to his two sons, Vincent and William. Vincent and Bill ran the business until the early 1990’s when a decision was made to split the business into two separate business, one being Boulder Cleaners. |

Since 1990 to the present, Susan Ellwood and Bill Ellwood Jr. run Boulder Cleaners. With the two family owners on site at Boulder Cleaners, they are able to control and focus much attention on quality and punctuality. The owners have been working in this field most of their lives. Between the two principals, they have a combined total of fifity years of dry cleaning and laundry experience. This next generation of Ellwoods have taken a bold move from using the cleaning methods of their father's to using only Biodegradable and environmentally friendly products in all of their 5 locations. The Boulder Cleaners’ principals (Susan, and Bill Jr.) grew up in Boulder and reside in Boulder County. Both principals are available on site at the plant during business hours (Monday through Saturday 9 am-6 pm) to respond to your needs quickly and efficiently.
